Following (and keeping up with!) conversations in blogs

Dear Google Reader and/or BlogLines team!, Can you please give me a simple way to for me to mark a specific blog post (as a starting point) and follow along all the converstaions/posts that “originate” from there on. Ideally i’d like to see something like the threaded view in GMail so that i can keep up-to-date. Yes, when i say stop following the specific conversation, i should not be notified from then on.
